Doggy Diner

This card was so much fun to design and make.

It was inspired by a challenge called "Come Dine With Me", which is currently running on the Craftworld web site.

First I sketched out my idea into a note book.

It was originally going to be a simple pop up box style card in the shape of a table. However, after taking measurements of the envelope and before deciding what size table it needed to be, an idea came to mind for including a couple of chairs either side of the table.

I was really chuffed with how it turned out. Very happy to discover that the chairs could be made smaller than the table on all sides and even more so, when I worked out that the construction would still all collapse down, to fit in the envelope.

The table and chairs are 3D and will stand alone in their own right. But I decided to add a wooden fence style backing wall. So now the table is attached at the back, to the fence with dimensional foam tape (not the chairs though, because they are narrower than the table and still need to fold inwards to fit into the envelope).

I may write a tutorial for the card in the near future.
